Born and raised on the sun-drenched highlands, I was taught by my mother from a young age the art of embroidery, and stitching simple patterns onto colorful fabrics. Geometric designs, sacred animals, and folktales, all beautifully embroidered, became vibrant works of art that embodied the soul of my homeland. The image of Tây Nguyên women in their ornate embroidered garments has always been deeply ingrained in my mind.

I often wondered, how artisans could create such intricate pieces?

The answer became clear when I visited Quat Dong village – the cradle of Vietnam’s traditional embroidery. There, I met Bà Tư, a master embroiderer. She spent an entire afternoon sharing her knowledge of embroidery with me, explaining the significance of every stitch. With her passion for the craft, she revealed the extraordinary skill and finesse that each artisan poured into every pattern and fabric. I was amazed by how much the artisans imbued into their work – not just meticulous craftsmanship and artistry, but also national spirit and pride in Vietnamese embroidery.

Since that trip, my love for embroidery has grown even deeper. I am fortunate to be working with Lotus Smock Factory, a leading global embroidery brand.
